In researching this bass originally, we found one that was labeled "Joseph Anton Laske, Prague 1788" and then another near identical bass labeled "Eduard Heidegger, Linz 1877". The label inside says "Eduard Heidegger, Linz a.d.O. Landstr.", no date, I suppose made around 1900 to 1920. Heidegger was specialist for guitars, lutes, mandolins, violins and cittern (label inside in german). we have a fine instrument in good condition, cleaned, immediately playable with wonderful sound, but needs some repairs.
